Georgia Ringing Expedition

Not long back from a nine day trip to Georgia, and thought this first post on my new blog would be a brief ringing summary. We rang on 7 mornings and 3 afternoons, catching and ringing a total of 253 birds. A rather small total given the effort involved but fine weather all week meant migrants were thin on the ground. This did however give us the time to fully appreciate the species we do not usually see.

Red-breasted Flycatcher

Steppe Grey Shrike

Eastern Olivaceous Warbler

Booted Warbler

Marsh Warbler

Red-backed Shrike

Levant's Sparrowhawk
